The Britney Law?  The L.A. City Council is considering an ordinance that would impose a 20-yard “personal safety bubble” around those public figures in the city who are construed by the law to be “paparazzi targets.” 

Many celebrities are fed up with aggressive photographers, whose hyper-zealous conduct has escalated due to the huge amounts of cash at stake for select snapshots and video clips.  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Chief William Bratton, who insists the troubled star should just “stay home!”

Several weeks ago, VOTE FOR THE WORST exposed American Idol hottie David Hernandez as a stripper and bartender at a gay bar called  BURN  in  Arizona. Idol does not seem concerned however. – “We’ve had strippers on the show before,” Idol executive producer Ken Warwick told TV Guide’s website. “We’re never judgmental about people who do things like that. If it were some sort of heavy porn, then maybe we’d have to take action.  But certainly not on this.”

In other Idol scandals rocker nurse Amanda Overmyer had spent time in the slammer for a DUI and it is rumoured that Robbie Carrico wears a weave!  What next? Don’t tell me cuties David Archuleta  and Danny Noriega are  gay lovers!

If you make it to the top 20 on American Idol, and are good enough, there’s a very good chance you will get work! Cutie Danny Noriega may have been voted off last week, but within days, had an offer from Rosie O’Donnell!

Rosie O’Donnell was filming a video blog while appearing on Kathy Griffin’s “Life on the D-List” - In one on the posts she  presented Danny with an offer to come cruise with her and Cyndi Lauper on an R Family Cruise to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

    “I don’t know if you have to sit around the American Idol studio and look sad for the next few weeks — because I think that’s part of the contract,” joked O’Donnell. “[But] you got a free cruise. You and a friend.”

But O’Donnell expects the young singer to work for his vacation. “Come on there, and I want you to sing ‘Tainted Love,’” she says. “I think you’re fantastic. And I think you’re a bold and brave and beautiful young man. And I admire you, Danny Noriega. You have an amazing voice. And your hair looks good straight.”

Also on the cruise: O’Donnell’s pal and True Colors Tour partner Cyndi Lauper. The combination, O’Donnell says, would make a perfect duet — or trio! Says the comedienne: “You can sing with her — and me — onstage.”

Does your hotel have attitude? An international gay hotel brand has recently launched worldwide.

Attitude Hotels launched with the goal of providing travelers with a way a telling if a hotel is up to snuff. 

Founder Pedro Castro, a Portuguese-born lawyer and travel marketer based in Zurich says the company would not own the hotels but license its name if the facility met its requirements. Attitude would inspect the hotels and do annual follow-ups to assure the standards are being met. And all the hotels can be booked through the  main site Attitude Hotels.

So far, only two US hotels have been listed with the company; The Royal Palms and the Flamingo Inn, both in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Other hotels have been listed in Prague, London, Nice, Stockholm, Berlin, Budapest, Amsterdam and Barcelona. – “In the short term, Attitude Hotels hopes to increase its selection of hotels, first in France, Italy, Greece and Spain,” said Castro. “Thereafter, we will concentrate on providing a wider variety of travel possibilities in North America.”
 
    Attitude Hotels properties range from small independent properties, including B&Bs and guesthouses, to 5-star quality leisure and corporate hotels. Five travel essentials:

I travel so light that it’s insane. I take one bag no matter where I go, no matter how long I go for. So in that is always my passport; my rosewater spray, which I always have to have; my mala [Buddhist prayer beads]; my iPhone . . . and . . . I think I only have four things, that’s how light a traveler I am.

Japan:

A culture [in Japan] that is dying, unfortunately, is the public baths. I think they are so amazing and such a beautiful part of Japanese tradition. I always seek them out.

Australia:

Australia is my favorite place to eat, bar none. In Sydney [my favorite eatery is] Longrain, which is a Thai restaurant but very cutting-edge. That’s a great place to eat.

Santa Barbara, Calif.:

I just finished a tour at Santa Barbara. I was finished at 8:30 p.m. and changed my clothes immediately and rushed to La Super-Rica, which is one of my favorite taco stands. Just an amazing place. I usually go to more ethnic, more low-key hole-in-the-wall places.

Wayne Besen reported on PAGE ONE Q today, “Gay bashing in Jamaica is so prevalent that in 2006 Time Magazine wrote an article about the island headlined, “The Most Homophobic Place On Earth?” The New York Times this week showed that the anti-gay climate has only worsened, with the island caught in a downward spiral of outright psychosis. It is time to hand an ultimatum to Jamaica’s public officials: Stop allowing rampant abuse of gay people or your economy will be crippled.”

Murders, beatings, stabbings and stonings are normal occurances here! These are not isolated incidents!

“On American docks, six hundred miles west of this homophobic hellhole, tourists regularly line up to board massive luxury liners destined for Jamaica. The tropical island earned $2.1 billion from tourism in 2006, an increase of 24 percent over 2005. More than three million people visited Jamaica in 2006, with 1,025,000 arrivals from the United States.

Clearly, the answer to Jamaica’s love affair with lynching is an aggressive campaign designed to put the clamp on tourism – particularly the cruise industry. The goal should be to strangle Jamaica’s economy and force the island to change or suffer severe consequences. With tourism Jamaica’s second largest source of revenue, such a campaign could have a powerful impact that achieves tangible results.

It appears that four major cruise lines are the main conduits in which people infuse Jamaica’s economy with blood money. They are Carnival, Costa, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. The ports where the ships leave are Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral and Galveston.

It is imperative that one of the GLBT international groups or a major U.S. gay rights group create a campaign to shame these corporations and the passengers that travel on their ships. With so few ports, it would be relatively simple to call for a boycott and picket, while handing hand out informational flyers to cruisers. A “Boycott Jamaica” advertising campaign would greatly strengthen these actions. Billboards would need to be strategically placed along I-95 between Miami and Fort Lauderdale with the bold headline: “JA-MURDER.”

It is time we stopped vacationing from our responsibility and started holding Jamaica and its corporate enablers accountable. Until anti-gay atrocities are no longer the norm, Jamaica must be seen as an international pariah, rather than the faux paradise it presents itself to the world.”

According to NYMAG, former Viacom head Tom Freston  is selling his 4 bedroom Upper East Side townhouse, which also happens to be the house that Andy Warhol lived in from 1974 to 1987. Of course, you’re not likely to find any stray Basquiat doodles (or, you know, ‘ludes) from back in the day lying around. Freston renovated the hell out of the place, adding a luxurious rooftop terrace, four bedrooms, a library, chef’s kitchen, staff suite, gym, and seven wood-burning fireplaces, and the only real sign that Andy ever lived there is the little red plaque on the front of the house, “Andy Warhol: 1928-1987″  - 

57 E 66th street -  The cool vibes and the amenities will set you back a mere $38.5 million, which if you think about it is only half of what someone paid for Warhol’s Car Crash just last year. (Taxes  are $6000 a month!)

Warhol paid  $300,000 for the house in 1974.

ALSO FOR SALE, his townhouse at 1342 Lexington Avenue @ 89th Street. This one is only  $6  million.
Warhol lived here from 1959 – 1974. The asking price is $5.99 million. The house has ornate wood moldings and paneling, and original mantels. But it is not as large as many Upper East Side town houses, and fronts on Lexington Avenue rather than a quieter side street. ( It is 48 feet deep on a 62-foot lot — while most town house lots on side streets are about 100 feet deep — and has just over 3,000 square feet, according to city tax records.)
