Milk For Breakfast is the creative product of JP, which is short for John Paul. His blog has been up for almost a year now (technically his first post was on February 28, 2007), and he seems fairly consistent in getting entries out at least weekly. Given he is a trainer in the BPO industry, I can completely relate to how busy he probably gets.

With a new year tends to come a lot of involuntary introspection and thinking, if there is such a thing. I guess it’s just human nature to reflect on everything that had happened before as one plans ahead.
With the coming of 2008, I found myself unable to immediately jump back into my Pinoy Gay Blogs reviews without first addressing a question that’s been mildly nagging me – What makes someone a Pinoy Gay Blogger? As much as the question seems easy enough to understand, especially when you start going over the various blogs listed on the Pinoy Gay Blogs List thus far, I thought it would be interesting to define this first in lieu of a blog review this month.
We can go about this process in many ways, but of course the geek in me has me going by definitions and terms initially.

One of the best things about Pinoy Gay Blogs from a sort of “project” sense is how it manages to connect not just Filipino bloggers here in the Philippines but it also allows us to redefine the community to include those Filipinos living beyond these islands. We’ve already featured a few international Filipino bloggers and it never hurts to add another one to the list.
Today we travel to Thailand to discover another Filipino blogger living there. kawadjan is an interesting blog from Documentation Officer living there (at least that’s what his Blogger profile says). He’s certainly more than worth the read, believe me.
As of writing we have 103 listed Pinoy Gay Blogs in this site! Thank you to all who have volunteered to be listed here, may we really be shining glitters in the Pinoy blogosphere!
Mabuhay, and world peace!

First, a little shop talk. In an attempt to maintain a more manageable cycle for these reviews, I’m going to try to consistently get the reviews up during the first week of every month, so if you have blogs of interest that you feel should get featured, be sure to let me know before the end of the month so I have time to screen.
And now to our main event, this month’s featured blog is colorful in more ways the one. Let’s all get to know the diverse personalities behind Las Tres Estrellas!
PinoyCentric.com and Manila Gay Guy, with the help of Gibbs Cadiz, are inviting 20 bloggers to “Theater Talk Atbp,” with multi-awarded writer-director Floy Quintos. This informal, animated, and interactive chikahan session on theater appreciation will be on October 27, Saturday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the PLDT/Smart Exhibition Hall of the PETA Theater Center on 5 Sunnyside Drive, New Manila, Quezon City.
This is a rare opportunity for bloggers to learn from someone who has had extensive experience in theater, television, show business, and the arts.

While we’ve all spent our fair share of time in the closet (and many remain there for now), everyone’s experience remains unique to the person yet something we can all relate to given our shared sexual orientation. This week’s blog feature is a reminder of that time as seen through the eyes of a young man with a somewhat complicated arrangement for things. Ladies, gentlemen and everyone who hasn’t made up their minds, I give you Your Gayness!
Your Gayness! is a blog that covers the personal experiences ofIan as he continues to survive as a gay man still in the closet. His situation is rather unique given that he’s technically already told his folks that he’s gay – usually the penultimate definition of coming out for the Filipino gay male – and yet things didn’t get any easier after that.
When I first started working with Pinoy Gay Blogs more than six months ago, I was really excited about the opportunity. It took me a while to get a definite feel for it and eventually I settled for aiming to write a review once a week.
In recent weeks I’ve noticed that sites that have been featured in the past are no longer as active as they used to be so I thought it might be a good idea to check on everyone first before moving forward once more.
So here it is, every blog featured thus far and where they are now:

With the recent weather, fluctuating ISP performance and just how busy I’ve been as of late, I haven’t been able to post PGB reviews as much as I’d like to. To make up for lost time, here’s this week’s review of a pretty interesting and diverse site – ‘Kwir ‘A-thE-ist.

Raymond Dragon’s fashion label—founded in 1990 with only $1,500 and a collection of sample fabrics—found an initial niche in the gay community. Designing sportswear that accentuated the male physique, his fashions were often considered to be homoerotic; he was later recognized as an industry leader for having introduced stretch fabrics to men’s fashion.
Gaining popularity in a wider audience, Dragon’s line appeared in magazines such as Details , Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Detour, Out, Ocean Drive, Rolling Stone, Spy, The Advocate, and several exercise and fitness magazines. His clients have included such notables as Tom Cruise, Gregory Hines, and Aaron Neville.
Dragon’s creations have also appeared on Broadway in productions of Rent, Chicago, and Fosse. Among others, the Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham dance companies have used his clothes for costumes, as has the Royal Copenhagen Ballet and Frankfurt Ballet. His clothing line was been discontinued and his New York store closed, after September 11th.
“After September 11, there was a pretty permanent drop in business,” he explains. The trendsetter was then faced with a career decision: go corporate with his style skills, or hone another set of talents altogether. He chose the latter.
“To sell my soul for fashion? I couldn’t do it,” he says. Instead, he embraced what may seem like a surprising alternative: directing, producing and starring in porn.
Even though Dragon has been a major success in the porn biz—and was inducted into adult entertainment’s GAYVN Hall of Fame in 2007— he feels the time is right to jump back into the retail scene. “There’s a huge hole in the swimsuit market right now,” he says, adding that his new line will soon include men’s underwear and dancewear (Dragon does ballet, along with Bikram yoga and regular gym workouts, to stay in shape).
Though he hasn’t yet found a local retailer in New York, his suits are being carried at shops in both San Francisco and L.A., as well as online. And the porn? His popular porn site is still going strong; as far as returning to the studio, he’ll wait and see. “I don’t know if making films is my passion,” he says. “But I do believe the universe kind of pushes you in a direction sometimes.”
